You’ve just received a new laptop battery. Did you know there is a right method to charge it as well as care for it in the future?
First of all, you must follow the instruction manual for both your new battery as well as your laptop. If they differ from what is stated here, it is wise to follow the owner’s manual instructions.
Also, of VERY important note, DO NOT store your battery in frigid weather!! (Below freezing) If you have a Li-Ion battery, this will permanently destroy your battery.
O.k. Now on to your new laptop battery.
Keep in mind that the first charge is the most important charge of all! Plug laptop in and charge the new battery for numerous hours (some manufacturers recommend 24+ hours).
After the allotted period of time and when it is fully charged, you can begin using your computer.
A battery will last longer if never permitted to run below 20% charge.
(It is also beneficial to not repeatedly fully charge your battery, but this is harder to do. đŸ™‚ )
